The Time Perception Index (TPI) began in the early 2000's as part of a graduate study focus and evolved alongside emerging research trends, new technologies and global crisis (9/11, 2009 recession, Covid-19). Today, it aggregates, catalogues, and indexes, a continually growing body of research and theory into applications for everyday life with unlimited opportunities for expansion and growth that can cross over many disciplines and industries with the potential for changing the world.
Craig Berger, a Philly-area native who has spent most of his life in NYC, began his academic journey in time perception at Rutgers and then at NYU. In 2025 he completed development of the Time Perception Index (TPI).
Besides love for the cognitive sciences, Craig is also passionate about sustainability including an innovative patent he was awarded in 2019 for IMSU, a sustainable interlocking modular storage unit system. He also ran an online magazine Bloated Hippo Magazine for several years that focused on challenging perceptions.
Craig's business acumen includes planning, operations, data analytics, IT and leadership roles across over a dozen different companies and brands in fashion and consumer goods. Outside of work he enjoys time with his beautiful family, fitness, writing, performing arts, hospitality and being in nature.
The TPI along with other inventions are managed by Craig under IMSU LLC (Carroll Gardens, Brooklyn).
